Understanding your role

Etouch tailors what you see to your role. That's why two people don't necessarily have the same menu or the same buttons.

The three main roles

Client

You represent the brand or company that orders the photos. You can:

• browse a project's photos and choose the ones to retouch (see Review and select the photos);
• comment on and annotate the images (see Annotate and comment on a photo);
• validate or reject the retouches (see Validate or reject the retouches);
• download the final files and pay the invoices (see Download the deliverables).

To protect confidentiality, a client doesn't see certain internal information: the retouching guidelines, the identity of the assigned retouchers, or the rates negotiated with the retouchers.

Retoucher

You do the retouching. You can:

• review the guidelines attached to the project (see Review the retouching guidelines);
• upload your retouched versions (see Upload your retouched versions);
• handle the corrections requested by the client (see Retouch rounds (managing corrections)).

Studio / Administrator

You orchestrate the project from start to finish. You can:

• create the projects and import the media (see Creating a project);
• set the prices and publish a quote (see Pricing and quotes);
• assign retouchers and guidelines (see Assigning retouchers and guidelines);
• steer progress — move the project from one step to the next (see Managing a project's progress);
• invoice and manage the organizations.

Why can't I see a certain screen?

It's almost always a matter of role. If a feature described in this help center doesn't appear for you, it's because it's reserved for another role. It's not a bug.

The two workspaces (studios only)

Studios have two workspaces, accessible via a switcher at the top of the menu:

• Post-production — managing the retouching projects: review, selection, delivery.
• Studio — organizing the physical shoots (see Sessions and reservations and The calendar).

Clients and retouchers only see what concerns them and don't have this switcher.
