Glossary

Etouch's key words, one sentence each.

• Project — a folder that links a client to a set of photos and tracks the whole process, from preparation to delivery.
• Studio — the organization that runs the shoots and steers the projects.
• Client — the organization that orders the photos, makes the selection and does the validation.
• Retoucher — the provider who does the retouching.
• Media / Asset — a photo or a video within a project.
• Gallery — all the media in a project, in a grid or a list.
• Viewer — the screen that displays a photo full size (zoom, navigation).
• Selection — the photos the client chooses to send to retouching.
• Annotation — a marker (point, rectangle, drawing) placed on an image to comment on it.
• Guideline — the retouching instructions (background, format, look, reference images). E.g. "lighten the background", "remove the label".
• Retouched version — the retouched file attached to an original photo.
• Retouch round — a round of corrections, triggered when the client rejects a retouch.
• Validation — the client's approval or rejection of the retouches.
• Deliverables — the final files available for download once the project is done.
• Step / Workflow — the project's position in its life cycle (among the 7 steps).
• Quote — the locked pricing presented to the client for approval.
• Invoice — the billing document for a project or a session.
• Prices — the studio's price catalog, the basis for pricing.
• Session — a studio shoot (Studio mode) with its machines and consumables.
• Reservation — a request for a time slot, sometimes coming from an external system, that feeds the sessions.
• Integration / App — a connection to an external tool (Dropbox, FTP, Pennylane).
• Notification — an alert that tells you an action is waiting for you.
• Role — what you're allowed to see and do (client, retoucher, studio, administrator).
