The 7 steps of a project

The most important overview: a project's full journey, from the shoot to delivery.

In short: every project always follows the same 7 steps, in the same order, and you're notified when it's your turn to act.

Every Etouch project moves forward step by step, always in the same order. Understanding this journey lets you know where a project stands, what's expected of you, and who needs to act next.

The journey at a glance

  1. Studio preparation — the studio imports the photos and prepares the project.
  2. Client review — the client browses the gallery and chooses the photos to retouch.
  3. Selection confirmation — the studio confirms the choice, assigns a retoucher and the guidelines.
  4. In retouch — the retoucher works and uploads their retouched versions.
  5. Client validation — the client approves or rejects each retouch.
  6. Done — the deliverables can be downloaded; the project can be invoiced.
  7. Archived — the project is closed and put away.

Good to know

  • We move forward in order. A project doesn't skip steps: each step unlocks the next one.
  • We can go back if needed. If the client rejects a retouch, the project automatically returns to "In retouch" for a new retouch round.
  • You're notified when it's your turn. A notification alerts you every time an action is waiting for you (see Notifications).
  • The current step is always visible at the top of the project page, with a reminder of the next action to take.

For the details of each step, see Each step in detail.
